My Favorite Skin Treatment - From Kat's Kloset

I've blogged about this before on my personal blog ONLINE SELLING about these hand cream I got from Kat's Kloset last year (disclaimer here - Kat, like all of the folks involved with the DSRS blog is a friend of mine... so I'm biased in her favor and the favor or anything she tells me to try...) but mindless loyalty aside I love this stuff >> Glycerine Hand Therapy.

My hands, partially due to heredity and more probably due to a hypoactive thyroid are extremely dry. In fact, my skin in general is dry.  To the point that in the past, it hurt. So when Kat sent me a sample I tried it as soon as I opened the box.  And I love it.  I'm particulary fond of the Camille scent. (I like all the others but my husband does not like "perfumes" and complains so Camille is best here since it's a much gentler scent)

This is the "tub"  but it comes in tubes also and I see at the moment that she has the Unscented on sale along with the Tuscan Honey, French Vanilla and Mango Beach !

Try it, you'll like it - and while you're there, although these are not on sale they are to die for because they are soooo comfortable (I have the CASUAL style)..get yourself a pair of these  Convertible Shoes -  One Soles  and look at all the "tops" you can get to change to.  I have the Butterfly tops already and I want the Las Vegas ones for my trip next year and the Santa one for Chrismtas and the Easter ones...and the animal prints... oooh...

This-n-that-Freeland Enterprises presents MORE END OF SUMMER SALE GOODIES!!

Because so many of our members are participating and this is a much shorter sale, I'm going to profile each one today, briefly and then send you off to explore their eBay store on your own.

First up today is This-N-That-Freeland-Enterprises.  This store is owned by my friend Marion. She's got quite a few "crafting" items on sale like these craft kits (and also some crafting books )  but she also has some "car parts" listed as well.

Like a lot of us on OBS (a closed yahoo group) Marion has some Little Golden Books listed but Marion is "crafty" and she loves to make these beaded necklaces (among other things) and she has several others listed as well.

You simply can't go wrong shopping with This-n-That so stop in and browse this week while the sale is on - remember the sale ends at Midnight on Tuesday so don't dawdle!

The Acquisatory - Harmony Kingdom End of Summer Sale

I told you Tueday about our End of Summer sale and about most of the eBay sellers participating but here are a couple of more with some links.  OMG here goes my whole budget. LOL

HARMONY KINGDOM -  This account is managed by one of my friends, eBetsy of eBay Radio and eBay Radio Party fame.  But she's a trading assistant for a jewelry seller who has the most gorgeous things and also carries the Harmony Kingdom gifts.
I'm really enchanted by these Pot-Bellied Cats

But then there are these (and wouldn't they make great gifts for the office for Christmas?) from Lord Bryon's Harmony Garden ! (and there are 30+ versions listed so no two gifts will be the same!)

OR there are the RolyPolys... (I love these ... see what I meant about my budget being blown to bits with a cannon in this shop?)  (isn't this poodle just the cutest thing? His name is Beau Brummel)

This is BRANDO - Rolypoly dog
This is Curly - the Rolypoly pig.

OK now I have to go work to earn enough to buy all of these before you get there.   Check back soon, because there are more good items on sale both at The THE AQUISATORY and some of our other sellers.  I'll be back to tell you about them shortly

For every thing there is a season...

I always think of that line when someone dies or something changes dramatically. This blog, was originally intended to "relieve" pressure. We have so many weird things go on in our lives, and if you look back, you'd say to yourself "Holy Cow! It's just like a soap opera". And so we were going to write our own soap opera.

Instead we've moved ahead here, writing about our selling experiences and our specialities. We have shared some of our exasperation with the changes at THE BIG E and we've vented about some folks who weren't really "Top Rated Buyers" or sellers either for that matter. As we move into the second half of 2010, we hope to bring you with us on our journey, learning, improving and expanding our businesses and our blogging abilities.

And so, stay tuned because next week? We're having another sale and we'll have more featured stores, items, people and fun! And I'm sure we'll have more "soap opera" stories.

Udderlygoodstuff Celebrates "Christmas in July" with a Sale!

I have known Danni Udderlygoodstuff for about 5 years or so and I think she's one of the amazing people on eBay.  Danni sells antiques, lots more categories than I do and is very knowledgeable about them. She likes antiques so much she lived out a dream of mine, she apprenticed with a local auction house for 6 mos.

She relocated recently several thousand miles from her original "hot spot" home and is now a "snowbird".  In the process she shed all her old stock and has lots of new stuff to list and she's put all of it on sale for a 5% discount.

Here are some of her things I particularly like:
Fenton Melon Vase

and then there's this -

A Night At The Movies for the Family

We're having a group-wide Christmas in July sale in my favorite yahoo group - each of us picked a % we'd offer as a discount and we marked down our store items on eBay.  So today I'l like to show you the VHS movies from my friend Bev...Her store Family Nite Movies has 1145 VHS tapes in 20+ categories.  So if you can't find it there? In all likelihood, it's out of print.

Here's an example - MY husband and son are BIG-TIME horror movie buffs - Look what she has in stock in this genre:

Scared enough?? Got little ones coming to stay with Grandma for the weekend??
Or just don't want the kiddies dealing with the DVD player?? Look what she has to entertain the younguns...

Family Nite also have very generous shipping - and she just got markdown manager so she could participate.  So go buy some movies.

Bears just wanna have fun!

Two bears roaming our little town of Hammond, NY., cute and harmless as can be. They love suet cakes and bird seed and that is why they're attracted to me. He stands about 6 feet and runs when you holler. They say mama bear scoots them off when they are about 2 years old...she has started another family, with her cub running through the village in the next town over.

WELL! that's what M said and she lives in Hammond. ME? I think like all the rest of us who "work at home" he just got the mid-afternoon munchies and didn't ahve anything left from last fall. So he went out "grocery shopping" and found M's birdfeeder. Fortunately I live nearer to Phila and we rarely have black or brown bears in the yard. Gosh wouldn't that scare the skunk?

Yes OUR lives are a soap opera, now all we have to do is sell the story to the Soap Opera Channel

5-18-2010  UPDATE !! Poor silly bear - he just wanted some munchies and ended up dead Bear Shot

THIS is the soap opera we call life

So eBay on location is happening in Atlanta today and on MOTHER'sDAY weekend in Dallas and June is Chicago? and September is San Jose. Do you notice something there?

Yeah- The Northeast/Midatlantic area is barren... the Northwest...is barren.. no eBay on Location in either area. Why is that??

I know Griff's answer - costs too much. To which I say - IF you can afford the Omni in Atlanta.... and a city Center Hotel in Chicago - WHY not look for less expensive venues for all of these and COME to where the population is?

My area, the Northeast, comprises 1/4 of the continental territory but eBay ain't coming here. Instead, they are going AGAIN to Chicago and Dallas. Dallas has had several eBay Meetups - the eBaybes people make sure of that. Chicago had eBay live and a dinner with John Donohoe, the CEO of eBay and mastermind of all the worst ideas I've ever seen on eBay. And Penna?? once long ago...like 2000 we had one crummy session of eBay University. NJ? I'm not sure they even got that.

I'm sure eBay thinks all us northerners look the same and think the same so why bother. And I'm sure they think we'll travel to Atlanta or Dallas or Chicago or San Jose... well ?? are you? I'm not. Time the mountain came closer to me. Oh wait...it's ebay we're talking about....no chance they'd figure this out by themselves. So here it is... I ain't going. Have something within a 24 hr drive of me and maybe.... fly anywhere? not at this time.

To my friends who went? I'm hoping you have a terrible time. Leave earlier ...come home... we miss you and eBay won't even know you're there.

The Mid-Atlantic states have more of the population of the country and yet, we're being ignored for Georgia

Thought for today (hey it's for YOU!)

Lately it seems, the world in general has become intensely "uncivil". People wish for politicians to die. They wish for competitors to die. I myself volunteered to pray for someone to die (some one mean and devastating to be around but still....) and then I read Dick Polman, The American Debate, in today's paper. And I read this quote... and I'm passing it along:

"In times like the present, men should utter nothing for which they would not willingly be responsible through time and eternity", And Old Abe knew something about "saying things" and I doubt the circumstances now are really all that different than when Lincoln was being threatened and hated. I'd add a further admonition - don't say anything to another, that you wouldn't wish on a loved one. Cause there is a capricious fate, that makes us partners with our enemies. You might bring down the rain on his head but it's gonna get your feet wet to.

All of which is to say "You catch more flies with honey than vinegar" - which my Great Aunt Frances used to to say..
