When life gives you lemons....

A couple of months ago - I asked the question on Facebook as to whether most people live happy lives with a crisis here and there or...do they live from crisis to crisis with happiness here and there.

The response was mostly from people who were going from crisis to crisis....maybe happy people don't spend a lot of their time answering questions on Facebook???

Anyway, I'm in a funk and can't seem to get out of it. Things are not going well here and it just seems to be one emotional roller coaster event to the next and no bright skies and sunshine anywhere to be seen.

How do you turn life around when it gets like this? Keeping a stiff upper lip ain't getting it. Working harder isn't helping. Nothing I do, at the moment, seems to make any difference. Just feel like crawling in a hole somewhere and sleeping for a month.

Ideas?

Very interesting post. You are not the only one who is going through a "funk and can't seem to get out of it". The economy, the weather, health issues, other negative people in our lives. I can go on and on and I'm sure you can to. I've got one simple suggestion for you. When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself "I choose to be happy today". Period. End of story. No matter what happens today. I can see something positive coming out of it. It's a challenge but just try it for 5 days straight. I dare ya!

Cat,

I know things aren't easy for you right now and as in life I don't think there are any easy answers for any of us. I think often it helps to look at little things for happiness first and small accomplishments which we love to hear about and share with you in the group. You know we are always here for you.

Sometimes like the song says you just have to "walk thru a storm with your head held high and don't be afraid of the dark".

IT does help to decide that you're ok and you're gonna stay that way. And then just put one foot in front of the other til it's over.

What you're going thru will end eventually - one way or another. The only thing that never ends is taxes.... everything else? we can survive. And we're taking you with us!

HUGS!
